Alice In Wonderland..

I don’t know if any of you ever watched movies as a kid that you had horrible dreams about, or remembered because they freaked you out. But I have 2. “The Wizard of Oz” which I still cannot watch - that stupid Wicked Witch! (haha, I know!) and “Alice in Wonderland” the version from 1985. Take a look at this clip if you don’t know what I’m talking about:

AH. Okay, so I was searching eBay this afternoon when I found it! I couldn’t remember what year it was from so I searched YouTube and that’s the clip I found; which is the movie that FREAKED me right the heck out. Why? I’m not exactly sure but I remember very distinctly I would have nightmares about me being small and BIG HUGE things flying at me or I’d grow really big and not be able to fit into doors. I also believe I would drink a potion that read “Drink Me” and stuff right out of the movie! LOL it was terrifying as a Child. Now, I think its rather hilarious so I bought the dvd from ebay and I’m now awaiting its arrival. I’m stoked, it will be fun to watch and see how much of a dork I was. I will for sure have to blog about it after I watch it again.. it’s been years since I’ve seen it, I don’t think I’ve seen it since I was at least 5 or 6. Wait for that entry.. it should be interesting.

Before ending this entry I want to ask anyone who prays to please say a Prayer for Amanda. She is currently in hospital in ICU. It’s all over the internet what’s happened to her, and I’ve posted on a mb or two in support and asking for prayer and thoughts of support and get well. Just please everyone keep her in your thoughts, and hope she gets well. Her baby girl needs her Mommy, and we are all rooting for her, so please Amanda pull through this… we know you can do it! So, if you don’t pray please send her good vibes, and think happy thoughts for her and her baby girl.

Broken Leg? Doesn’t stop him!

Chase has had his splint on his leg for 10 days now and you wouldn’t even know it was on there! He hasn’t had any aspirin for 5 days and he hasn’t whimpered, screamed or yelped in 4 days! He lays on it, jumps on it, moves it in ways that would have killed him even 5 days ago! I’m so excited… I know it’s not fully healed, but at least it is feeling better and hes not in as much pain as he was before. He goes back to the vet on June 3rd, and I’m assuming they will do x-rays so we can see how it is healing.. I’m so proud of the kids for watching how they are with him and making sure they don’t accidentally bump it or hurt it when they play, or when he jumps up to lay with them. Thankfully, I think it will heal just fine!

The weather was amazing for the last little while. As of Wednesday night it was thunder storming and even rained again a bit yesterday. Today it’s looking like it will be another beautiful day, but it’s a little gloomy right now. I’d like to get the kids out to the big park today, or even just out for a little walk. Jayden will need a nap first, and I have some windows to wash and some house work to do.. But at some point today it would be nice to get them away from the neighborhood for a little bit.

Well, You’d think with all the stuff I do daily, and all the activities I do with the kids I’d have lost all this baby weight by now, but I haven’t. fat burners anyone? Not really, Like I’ve said so many times before they aren’t necessary for me. I just need to really start working at it and when Chase is able start taking him for long nightly walks when my hubby is home and the kids are in bed. Me going to a gym isn’t realistic, and it’s almost been a year now.. I need to get my butt in gear! Alright, the kids are finishing up eating their breakfast so I should go clean up the dishes and unload the dish washer.

Have a great Friday everyone!

I did it! My new ink…

I am so in love with it! I can’t stop looking at it, and admiring it! The word “love” is a little far over so when my arm is turned over you can see part of it on my arm which is really cool. I didn’t get the tattoo I posted before. I gave it to him and my hubby told him to do whatever with it, free hand and see what he could come up with.. and this is what I got!

I am so very impressed with it. My artist is amazing, not only at his work but he was just the nicest person I’ve met in a long time. We talked the whole time, and he told me stories about tattooing and stories about his family. He was just a really nice guy.

When I went outside to wait with the kids while my hubby went to pay (hubby and kids waited outside / ate dinner while I got it done) my hubby worked out a deal. We are going back on the 26th of this month and we are getting 5 tattoos total. Him 4, and me 1 more. He’s getting his one tattoo finished which is 3 more little chinese characters on his one arm, an then we are getting matching tattoos that mean “Strength” in chinese on my other wrist and on his wrist opposite the arm hes getting his other one finished.

I can’t wait. I’m eventually going to do my whole right arm. I can’t wait to get it started, and now that I’ve found an artist that I really like.. I am confident it will look amazing. My kids love the fact that the stars are representing them. The bottom blue one is Jordan, the top blue one Jayden, the bigger pink one is Kyla and the small pink one is Ava.. The yellow, is me! :) They didn’t get to see it last night as it was late when we finished and I had to keep the bandages on it over night.. but this morning they were thrilled! It means a lot to me that I was able to get it done and to represent the 4 people in the world I love the most!

My mom had 5 or 6 tattoos and she had her belly button pierced, nose and her eye brow… I now have 3 tattoo’s and my tongue, and belly button pierced.. I had my nose at one point too but the ring fell out and I let it close over… take after her much? I love it..

Well, I’m sick again. I have a cold.. so far its just a sinus headache and really sore throat. I won’t complain though, as long as it’s not strep throat again I’m good!

Mothers Day!

Just wanted to wish all you Mommies and Mommy-to-be’s a very Happy Mother’s Day! I am enjoying my day with my family, and hope you all are too! May you have a great day, and realize you all are loved and appreciated more than you’ll ever know… Enjoy this time with your oved ones.. This day is for you MOM’S!

Cookies & A Tattoo!

I’ve been meaning to bake cookies for the past few days but I’ve been busy with the kids, housework, laundry etc. So finally this morning I baked some M&M cookies! They turned out really delicious! I wish I would used 2 full bags instead of 1 but they are good! I just prefer a little more chocolate chips or nuts or M&M’s in my cookies for some reason. I really shouldn’t be eating them but I like to make big batches of cookies to put in a tupperwear container and put in the pantry for snacks, or a treat for Jordan’s school lunches. I usually get maybe 1 or 2 out of a batch of 24 or 48 cookies. Which I won’t complain about because I shouldn’t be eating many anyway! You can find the recipe in my recipes here. I used my chocolate chip cookie recipe and just changed chocolate chips to 1 big bag of M&M’s!

Well, Mother’s day is this coming Sunday. I asked for something not very many mom’s I think would ask for. I asked for a new tattoo! I already have 2 and I have at least 3 more I know of right now that I want to get. So, I asked my hubby to buy me the one I want that represents my children and I… I found it online after searching for hours for something I had an idea of I just needed to find what I was looking for. So I drew it out, and here it is:

I’m getting it on the inside of my forearm and above it on my wrist I want the word LOVE written in handwriting. The big star is me, and the 4 little ones represent my babies! I love it and I’m so excited to get it. I asked my hubby to call around to the 4 tattoo shops we have in our City and the one said they could fit me in next week or sooner depends on the complexity of the tattoo. Which, its not at all so we’re going down there tonight after he gets home from work to show them the tattoo and see when I can get in. We’ll pay the deposit too… I’d die if they said I could do it tonight. When I look at it I don’t think it would even be an hour to do… I can’t wait though, whenever it gets done. I’m just really impatient! It will be my 3rd tattoo.. and it means a lot to me because not only did I draw this out, but it represents my world; my kids. So I’ll update after my stop in at the tattoo shop and let ya’ll know when I’ll be getting it done and of course watch for pictures!

Before & After

I’ve been meaning to do this for a long time. I wanted to show you all what a difference Ava’s surgery made for her eyes. People ask on facebook all the time when they see her wearing glasses and a patch if the surgery worked or not. I found some photos to compare; what do you think?

It worked. It did exactly what it was suppose to do - make her eyes straight. The after photo her eyes are a little red because its the day after her surgery. Most photos I keep finding post surgery she has glasses on, or her patch so I wanted to show without those things so its comparable. The surgery wasn’t to help her see, or correct any vision problems at all. It was to straighten her eyes. She wears a patch now 4 hours a day because although her eyes are 100% straight now she is still favoring her one eye over the other. The surgery did its job, now she has to do hers! So the patch will help, as will her glasses. Hopefully she won’t need the patch for much longer, and I’m hoping the glasses aren’t a permanent thing but shes so freakin’ cute with them on, so either way all is well. People don’t get that the surgery wasn’t to fix her vision, so I get a little annoyed when people think they know and just assume we put our daughter through that pain for nothing.. It was worth it in the end. She doesn’t remember the pain, and now her eyes are perfectly straight. Had she not had the surgery she would have been cross eyed her whole life… or until she did get the surgery. I think we made the right choice, shes beautiful.

Now that I’ve finally got that posted… Hopefully people will get it now! How was everyone’s weekend? Ours was good. Like I posted yesterday we got craft stuff from Micheal’s on Saturday. We’ve done them all already! I will post the photos later on. Right now I’m looking into getting pre paid credit cards for my hubby and I. I don’t like real credit cards.. I prefer to go the pre-paid route to protect myself, and of course my credit. I got approved a while ago for a pretty big pre-paid card so I want to actually do it. Credit Cards scare me - they can turn bad so quickly. I’m not willing to risk it, even though I always pay my bills on time or most times early. Pre-paid it is!

The Kindergarten Adventure Begins!

This morning after my hubby sent Jordan off to school we realized we forgot to put the spoon in Jordan’s lunch pale for him to eat his Mac n Cheese! So I decided today would be a great day to take Kyla and register her for Kindergarten plus I could drop off Jordan’s spoon!

So, Kyla, Ava and I walked up to the school… we gave Jordan his spoon and we filled out paper work at the office for Kyla to register. So it is official she will be starting Junior Kindergarten in September! I can’t even believe it. I get so emotional over my children regardless of the situation and school is a huge one for me. I was able to hold the tears in but I know in June for the open house, and when she actually starts I will be a wreck. I was for Jordan too.. something about them going to school really gets me. I’m excited, nervous, sad, happy and all these other emotions all rolled into one. Then September 2011 Ava will be starting school too. I can’t even begin to think about 3 of them being in school.. Oh my.

Speaking of kids.. Jayden will be crawling any day now. He gets up on his hands and knees and rocks a ton! I know, I know he’s almost 10 months old he should be already crawling but not my boy. My boy is a lazy little bug! But he’s doing great. He waves, he claps, he says Dad, Dada, Daddy, Mom, Mama… he’s a boy so he isn’t as quick as my girls were. Come to think of it Jordan started WALKING at 11 months old… But, Jordan wasn’t as big as Jayden was at this age… so he is a little slower. My hubby didn’t start walking until he was 15 months old. According to his mother everyone did everything for him - got him things, took him places, carried him etc. So I’ve been watching what we are doing and stuff. Trying to get him crawling.. So far hes doing great. Not only does he roll everywhere but he also shimmys and gets up on all fours. So hes doing great! All babies go at their own pace… I’m just excited for him to be doing all these things! I miss watching my babies do all their 1st things - crawling, walking, talking, running… its so much fun to watch kids grow and learn. I love it! I am one proud Mama if you haven’t already noticed! :)

Well… to talk about me for a moment. I really need to get my hair trimmed. I also bought dye the other day - - Yup, I dye my hair. Not any obnoxious color or anything, I dye it my natural color which is dark brown I just have a lot of white hair. Yup, Not ashamed to admit it. I’ve had it since I turned 17 and was pregnant with Jordan… I hate them. They aren’t grey, they are WHITE… And I mean pure white. THANKS JORDAN! heh.. So I’m going to be doing that this weekend, and hopefully next week getting out for a trim! I’m thankful I switched birth control considering the issue I blogged about a few months ago when I was losing my hair from all the hormones in the BC - Which stopped when I switched pills thank goodness.. I wouldn’t want to have to have hair loss treatments. At least not at my age. Jeeze, thankfully since switching pills my hair is as healthy as its been in a long time… I’m loving it. Now if only the white little buggers would go away! OY.

More Randomness..

Jayden had his 9 month check up with our family doctor on Tuesday. He now weighs 22lbs and is 30inches long! He’s a big healthy boy!! I thought for sure he would be about 25lbs considering the pain my poor arms / side feels after 5 minutes of holding him! But, hes 22lbs which is great. He’s where he should be and I’m glad! He eats like a champ, and fits into pretty much all 12 month clothes. He’s doing so great!

Yesterday I was bored and searching around Etsy when I came across this shop called Art Of Silver. I love what she is selling and I had to buy a necklace. I’ve been searching online for a while for a necklace I could get with my kids names and nothing caught my eye like this shop, and the necklace I bought which I love love love. Of course it will have my kids names on it and their birthstones the photo is just an example of what the necklace looks like! Isn’t it cute? I can’t wait to get it! Go check out her shop!

It’s March break right now for Jordan and the local schools. I don’t think for College or University students though. A friend of mine was talking about all these tests she had to prepare for and talking about sites to help students out with work. If you need to prep for LSAT check out lsat prep courses it’s a great educational service site and I’m sure will meet all your needs.

March Break already! I can’t believe it’s March 13th! This month is flying by really fast. Jordan is out of school until the 22nd… I’m hoping to take him to the Library, and get lots of crafts with all the kids done in the next little while. I really want to do hand/foot print molds with them to hang up in the stairway going upstairs. I think its such a cute idea!

Also, don’t forget to enter my giveaway for a bag full of goodies from the Body Shop! You have until March 19th to enter!

JAYDEN VIDEO

It’s been a very long time since I’ve posted a video. I used to do it all the time but I never even think about it anymore to be honest with you. Whenever theres an “Oh my gosh, must capture” moment I always just grab my camera and snap away.. Now, hopefully I’ll start to remember the video option. Anyways, I’ve posted videos of Ava and her dancing queen moments, and videos of the kids dancing together but I have yet to post one of baby Jayden. So, everyone this is Jayden!

ISN’T THAT JUST THE CUTEST? I couldn’t resist taking a ton of photos of him, but my hubby suggested a video - of course, because I didn’t think of it! - so I figured I might as well share cause I just thought it was full of cuteness. He just recently within the past month learned to sit up on his own (lazy baby!) and he’s always been rocking.. Ever since we got him the Jumperoo.. He’s a jumping/rocking baby! He’d rock and jump if you were holding him, he’d rock while he danced to music.. So Kyla brought this upstairs for him to play with and of course he loved it!! So there you have it, my baby boy! (don’t mind the kids you can hear in the background.. they were in the kitchen finishing dinner with daddy.. and Ava was yelling at everyone!)

In other news I’ve decided to start doing giveaways every month. I’ll start doing them the first week of every month; I need some ideas though! I’m not exactly sure what to do for my 1st. I want it to be geared for everyone not just mommies and mommy to bes. Of course I’ll have tons of those, which I already have so many good ideas for but the 1st one I want to be for everybody. So suggestions are welcome!

I need to get site back to the way it was before I had Jayden. Of course I’m super busy with 4 kids, but at night or when they nap during the day I can pop on and get things done, I miss interacting with everyone and people actually coming around to say hi! My stats tell me people are still coming, they just aren’t saying hello anymore. Please, if you stumble upon my little piece of the web here.. say hello!

Before I end this I just want to ask; has anyone been watching the Dr. Phil family? I will be doing a blog about it in the next few days - So if you’ve been watching the show, look out for my post! Also, I’ve heard a lot of talk lately about Sugar cleanses, Cranberry cleanses, and colon cleanse.. Do any of you do any of these types of things to get your body cleaned out? if so what do you do?

Get commenting.. there’s a lot to reply to in this post! :P

Some Recipes Added!

I have started to all recipes to the site. I put them in the “stuff” section. I will continue to add them I just wanted to get a few up so I could add the ones people commented on after my last post about cooking… So they are there, and I’ll continue to add recipes my family likes…

Yesterday was a PA so I had all the kiddos at home. I am really starting to wonder why there are so many PA days? This month there are 2. Not that I don’t love having Jordan home because I do, but he LOVES school and I just don’t get why they need SO many. If I counted on the school year calendar I’d bet there is close to 40…. Oh well, he is back at school today and Happy about it! He loves his friends, and shockingly loves doing school work so I can’t complain. In a few years I’ll probably be fighting with him to go to school!

Not much to blog about today… The girls are watching “Babie Presents Thumbelina” and Jayden is having a little snooze. I’m going to go get lunch ready in a few minutes then perhaps try to find a new recipe online for Pork Chops tonight! And like I said in my last post about cooking - if you have any recipes you’d like to share please feel free… I love making new and yummy things! :D
