Filed under: Opinions, Shopping on August 30, 2010 I’ve never sold anything online. I’m a huge online shopper though. But recently I’ve come across a lot of stuff that I can no longer use, or have the need for and instead of throwing it out I figured I’d look into selling them online. I found a ton of children’s books that Jordan has out grown - like spiderman, batman, cars.. etc stuff the girls will never have very much of an interest in and by the time Jayden is that age its likely the books will be tattered and torn… so I’m going to sell books that aren’t needed here anymore. Have you ever sold anything online??? what sites other than eBay have you used? opinions…?
A little while back I entered a contest Kaylee was holding and I won! I won a $25 e-gift certificate for a gorgeous store called FlowerzInHerHair.com. I browsed through the site a while and finally decided on 3 headbands, 2 flowers to attach to the headbands and 6 clippies for my girls.

I ordered and paid the difference via paypal on May 7th. My package arrived promptly on May 14th! The girls just love what I got, and everyone comments on how adorable the headbands and clippies are! Kyla is a really big girly girl and wants her hair done up all the time! While Ava wears her hair up sometimes, but she takes it out shortly after putting it up.. so these are really great for both of them because Kyla will keep them in and sleep in them if you’d let her ( which I don’t! ), and Ava can take them in and out on her own if she wants!

Ava modeling her headband! (click to enlarge)
Isn’t she adorable? And the hair bands with flowers really stand out on both of the girls because of how blonde! :D

I woke up this morning to my necklace I bought off etsy! It’s so cute, and having the kids names on it and birth stones totally makes this necklace my new fave! Under the birthstones it says MOM and has a little heart engraved below it! How adorable is that? Not only is it really shiny, and really well made it gets peoples attention. I love it! Everyone I’ve shown it to loves it too! I wrote the lady who owns the shop and asked her if I could do a giveaway - I’ll find something on her site, and I’m going to get it and in the near future do a giveaway. I’m really impressed with my sweet little necklace I want to do a giveaway with one of her other pieces! And who doesn’t love free stuff? I know I do!! If anyone else has any suggestions for giveaways, or has anything to contribute for a giveaway here on AMR please let me know! I can/will also do a review as well if desired. You can contact me here.
The weather is beautiful today! It’s starting today and suppose to go until Sunday being beautiful! We took the 3 little ones to the park (Jordan was in school!) and Jayden giggled, laughed and kicked his legs while in the swing - and the girls played on the climbers for a bit then spent the majority of the time rolling down the hill at the park.. I took some video of them rolling to share!
Too cute! Expect lots of videos and pictures this spring and summer. I’m such a huge photo freak and the odd time when I remember I’ll be able to get good videos too! One day I’m going to get around to putting all my videos onto a DVD and make extras for the kids and their keepsake boxes. I think they’d love them, and to show their families when they all grow up and get to see how silly and cute they were as kids!
Well, if you are at all interested in the post below this one there is an *adult* giveaway. Check it out! C’mon spice up your life a little - or get it for someone else as a gag, or even to spice up their life! HAHA. I know, I’m still in a little bit of shock I posted it too ;)
I’m so beyond irritated right now.
So, Nancy won my 1st top commenter contest. I waited until I got a winner to order the prize (dumb, I know!) well I tried to order it the day she won but my paypal kept timing out. Ok, no biggie I’d keep trying again. So I did, and finally on Monday it worked. Well, turns out it didn’t go through so tonight I did it again and somehow while ordering/paying the order got so mixed up that it is going to the address Nancy request I send it to her at but IN MY NAME! … WHAT? I think it’s her work address too. ugh…
So..
Just when I thought that was bad enough.. Oh no, it gets worse… I’m on hold with the Lush number for 48 minutes and 32 seconds when all of a sudden.. IT HUNG UP ON ME. Oh yes, I believe someone was finally going to answer my call and instead of answering - they hung up! SUPER!
So, I called back and left a message. I paused, read my kids 2 stories, tucked them into bed and I’m again on hold waiting for my call to be answered.
NEVER.AGAIN. I will never order off lush.ca again. I’ve ordered off plenty of websites sending the purchase to someone as a gift, and I’ve never had this issue. I’ve never had to be on hold for this long unless it was to deal with a cell phone - but lush Canada? - really?… NOT IMPRESSED.
I better be able to get this fixed. Her prize isn’t much but its worth $20.98 with shipping so I’d like it to get to her. :/
Lately I’ve been doing a lot of shopping online. Not just on ebay but I’ve been trying to find other places too… I’ve found a lot of little online boutiques, and sites where people have come up with random cute products that they sell themselves. I have also come across mbt shoes with a cute selection of shoes. I love shopping from the comfort of my own home especially when the items I buy get delivered right to my door! Hello pajama shopping! :)
Well if you have read the entry 2 posts down you’d know Ava is having her surgery this Friday. I’m so not ready for it, but having it done sooner rather than later is better so although I’m terrified I am certain it is for the best. Tomorrow I have a doctors appt at 4p, I think I have a UTI so I’m hoping to get antibiotics for it.. Also Ava has an appt with our family doctor then as well for a pre-surgery physical and paperwork the doctor has to fill out for the hospital. I’ve told her she’s having surgery on Friday with the doctors but she has no idea what that means but she knows she goes back to the doctors soon!!
My mother in law is coming Friday morning when we go to the hospital shes going to stay here with Kyla and Jayden and wait for Jordan to get done school. I know her surgery is a day surgery and she only has to be there that day but I think we have to stay a while after surgery so who knows when we will be coming home. MIL is taking the day off work to come watch the kids…. that is a huge stress relief its self.
I have a few days left to get myself ready to be a “big brave Mommy!” and I’m confident I’ll be just fine, my focus is on Ava…. I just hope she isn’t in pain. My hubby dropped of 2 perscriptions yesterday that the doctor gave him that she will need for after surgery… So we’re already prepared for post-surgery… One was a cream and the other was eye drops.
I’m a worry freak what can I say… I know she will be fine, and everything will go smoothly…. It’s nice to have a place to vent though, I think to get my mind off of everything later when the girls take a nap I’ll go back on the hunt for Valentines gifts online. I love shopping online, theres a few people I’d like to click here and get that for but how do you give that to someone as a gift? (no not for Valentines day) just in general.. I’m not that mean, plus I only give to my kids and hubby for Valentine’s and they don’t need any of that!
Oy Vey is right! Ava had her 1st appt since before Christmas at the hospital this past Tuesday for her eyes. It seems the patch and glasses are working wonders for her and she can now see what she should be able to see and at the strength she should be able to! Which is amazing and makes me want to cry… BUT… And of course, this is a big but.. If she doesn’t have surgery she will be cross eyed. So, she has to have surgery. They want to schedule it sometime within the next 6 weeks. I’m very emotional over this and I know it’s best for her and her eyes but the word “Surgery” is pretty scary, especially for a 2 year old to be having it. When I look at her shes such an itty bitty little peanut and it freaks me out. Of course I have faith in the doctors and know she will be in good hands but I’m a Mom and I stress A LOT. I will be there by her side and a lot of people who have experienced this type of surgery themselves or had their children have this surgery have been talking to me and reassuring me… So, although nothing will take my fear away until the surgery is done and over with and my sweet pea is ok.. it does help knowing others go through this stuff too and have had great outcomes. I plan on having a good talk with the doctors and doing a lot of research before they call us with a date…. I will keep you all informed.
A lot has been going on lately I’ve been trying to wrap my head around it all and deal with everything one day at a time. I think its going pretty well, and I’m glad. Finally, things are looking up. Can you believe it’s already January 14th? One month away from Valentines day? OY OY OY…. So quickly the time is flying lately. I was looking online for little things for my kids for Valentines day. For the boys I want to get them tuxedo vest bears, and the girls I want to get fairy princess bears with a tiny little box of chocolates (if I can find them - I know what I want its just trying to find the exact little bears)…And For my hubby, well that’s another story I have NO IDEA on what to get him….. any ideas? What are you all getting your S/O’s for Valentines day?
Well I didn’t make it out of the house until Wednesday. My hubby had some meetings to go to on Tuesday but had nothing planned Wednesday so we went to Walmart. We stopped and had some lunch then did some quick shopping. I bought some picture frames and then stopped at one of those kiosk’s to print photos. I ended up printing 53 for $18… Not bad, but I’d like to eventually get my own little photo only printer. With the amounts of photos I take it would be worth it…. so thats something to think about.
Yesterday Kyla and I jumped on a bus and had some “Mommy and Kyla time” we went to a few stores in this tiny mall and to the dollar store. She had a blast and bought treats for everyone.Ava had a freak out when I was leaving with Ky she kept saying “I miss you Mommy” and “I want to come!” poor thing broke my heart, but next time will be her turn… then Jordan’s.
When the weather starts turning into Spring I think we will be tackling all that needs to be done in our house. We only rent so I’m very hesitant about doing a lot of stuff but if we will be living here for a few more years I might as well just deal with it and get some stuff done. Like I’ve mentioned before we want to paint and put in new flooring in our living room… I also want to look into metal buildings .. like a metal shed for our backyard. However, the rules where with live are a tad bit ridic and you can’t do anything.. It’s so silly, and stupid. So we’ll see. I want something for the toys and bikes instead of just leaving them out in the backyard.. Right now they are all in the basement but they need a place of their own. It’s January so we have a A LOT of time to figure things out.
There’s so much I want to do around my house but I never have the time - or places to do the things. I’d love to change and rearrange things every few months but we have so much stuff and our furniture is so big and its very hard to move and find places for. I get bored easily when the kids are napping . . I just put them down (and Jordan is at school) I am doing laundry but theres nothing I can do when a load is in the wash, and a load is in the dryer. I wish I knew how to knit, at least then I’d have something to do PLUS be able to make warm comfy mitts and sweaters! :)
Time to change the laundry around,.. then fold the stuff and put it all away…. then perhaps, find something to bake?
Thanks everyone.. on here and twitter. I had a rough 2 days when I found out but I’m alright now. Obviously death is a sad thing, but finding out how I did wasn’t exactly a way I’d want anyone to find out about a dear friend passing away…
With that said…
I’m finally done all my Christmas shopping! I went out yesterday morning after having a Parent/Teacher interview with Jordan’s teacher and finished. 1st’ly - Jordan is doing amazing in school, which I am so proud of him for doing so well! 2nd’ly YESSSS! All done my Christmas shopping. I went a little over board this year but I had 4 kids and 1 husband to buy for, so I don’t think I could spend a tiny bit and be done so although I spent above what I wanted to.. it’s done! :)
I think we are going to take the kids to have their photo done with Santa on Monday. I’m pretty sure that is Peter’s only day off this week so we’ll have to do it then.. otherwise, it will be too late considering the next week is Christmas. Where in the heck did 2009 go?? It seemed to have gone by really quickly.
Well I need to bath Jayden.. Daddy bathed the girls this morning while I ran out to get some groceries… and Jordan will just have a shower before bed… so I’m off to get them situated. My girls fell asleep already and its 645p.. they didn’t have their usual nap today because I wanted to see how well they sleep at night without one, so we’ll see. I’m not too pleased they are asleep already but I wouldn’t be surprised if they slept straight through.. After the kids all are asleep I need to do a quick tidy up and get ready for bed myself. My Aunt from Toronto is coming over for a visit tomorrow and I havent seen her or my Uncle (my moms brother) since Kyla was a few days old, So that will be nice!
Well, If you need to check out; social security disability I have a few friends on Canadian disability, I’m not sure if its the same in the US but I dunno….
Jayden is 6 months old today. It’s hard to believe it’s been half a year since he was born. It’s gone by really quickly, but it’s been great fun. I love watching him grow and learn new things. Lately he’s really been focused on Jordan. He loves his big brother and Sisters like crazy. I love watching them all together… It’s especially cute to watch when Jayden is on the floor on a blanket and the others are around him making him giggle and squeel. Thats one of the best feelings ever watching all your kids playing and happy. I love it.
I need to get out this coming weekend to finish my Christmas shopping. I don’t want to be going out any closer to Christmas than this coming weekend. I’m going to do stocking stuffers tomorrow with my friend Alex while my hubby is off and can watch the kids for a little bit. I just can’t wait to be done.. then comes the wrapping. I haven’t wrapped anything yet. I hope Peter helps me with that otherwise, I don’t know when I’ll be able to get it all done.
I wish Canada had something like Black Friday here. The sales I saw on TV, and heard others talking about would be great around this time of year. But, nothing that great around here. I think I’m doing well though finding deals and sales… but I hope when I go out again this coming weekend I can find some great stuff. I have things on a list I need to get, but things like Onesies and Sleepers for Jayden I hope I can find some good ones on sale.. We’ll see. Regardless it needs to get done, I just would rather save money then overspend, ya know?
Hope everyone is having a good weekend. Peter has worked from 8am until 11-1130p since Friday so I’ve been getting things done around the house and just enjoying my kids… Right now I need to scoot and get some more laundry done and folded.. So, I am off. Enjoy your Sunday everyone!
