Great Message

I am sick still. It’s awful. I can’t even breathe out of my nose, and my throat is rather scratchy and I sound like I could lose my voice at any minute. This is not fun.

This morning we had to walk over to my mother in law’s to visit with her and my hubbys Grandma before they drove her back to Toronto. It was a good visit we stayed about an hour and a half. The girls and Jordan rode their bikes, and I pushed Jayden in his stroller there and my hubs pushed him on the way back. It was a great walk, we need to do family walks more often. I love them!

After dinner tonight I decided to make some banana chip muffins. I searched and found so many recipes and got a general idea for recipes, the one I really liked used plain yogurt.. I switched it for unsweetened apple sauce and shockingly they turned out amazing. I didn’t have muffin cups, so I just greased the tin and they don’t look as good as they taste but, YUM. I’m so glad I made them! I will post my recipe tomorrow!

Well, I want to run and have a nice bath. My tattoo is healing nicely but its rather sore so I won’t be able to have it in the water too long but I am frozen so I’m going to have one anyways. Before I go though, a friend of mine posted this video on her facebook and I just had to share it. How beautiful, sweet and cute is this? Not to mention the message it sends, and the message they say at the end of the video..

Great message. Now if only everyone would listen, and perhaps change their views/opinions and be a little open.. the world would be a much better place.

If you need some diet pill reviews which I strongly suggest to anyone in the market for diet pills please, please always do your research and read about anything you are going to take!

Have a great Saturday everyone!

Cookies & A Tattoo!

I’ve been meaning to bake cookies for the past few days but I’ve been busy with the kids, housework, laundry etc. So finally this morning I baked some M&M cookies! They turned out really delicious! I wish I would used 2 full bags instead of 1 but they are good! I just prefer a little more chocolate chips or nuts or M&M’s in my cookies for some reason. I really shouldn’t be eating them but I like to make big batches of cookies to put in a tupperwear container and put in the pantry for snacks, or a treat for Jordan’s school lunches. I usually get maybe 1 or 2 out of a batch of 24 or 48 cookies. Which I won’t complain about because I shouldn’t be eating many anyway! You can find the recipe in my recipes here. I used my chocolate chip cookie recipe and just changed chocolate chips to 1 big bag of M&M’s!

Well, Mother’s day is this coming Sunday. I asked for something not very many mom’s I think would ask for. I asked for a new tattoo! I already have 2 and I have at least 3 more I know of right now that I want to get. So, I asked my hubby to buy me the one I want that represents my children and I… I found it online after searching for hours for something I had an idea of I just needed to find what I was looking for. So I drew it out, and here it is:

I’m getting it on the inside of my forearm and above it on my wrist I want the word LOVE written in handwriting. The big star is me, and the 4 little ones represent my babies! I love it and I’m so excited to get it. I asked my hubby to call around to the 4 tattoo shops we have in our City and the one said they could fit me in next week or sooner depends on the complexity of the tattoo. Which, its not at all so we’re going down there tonight after he gets home from work to show them the tattoo and see when I can get in. We’ll pay the deposit too… I’d die if they said I could do it tonight. When I look at it I don’t think it would even be an hour to do… I can’t wait though, whenever it gets done. I’m just really impatient! It will be my 3rd tattoo.. and it means a lot to me because not only did I draw this out, but it represents my world; my kids. So I’ll update after my stop in at the tattoo shop and let ya’ll know when I’ll be getting it done and of course watch for pictures!

Our Earth Hour & Such..

Well I’m very proud to say we did Earth Hour with no problems! I had the candles lit by 20 after 8, and lights were all off by 8:25p… Jordan stayed awake. He laid on the floor and watched “Alvin & The Chipmunks” on daddy’s iPod touch! The girls were in bed but decided to wake up and join the party half way through the hour. We were painting the living room when we had to pause for the hour. We hadn’t eaten our dinner so of course what else was there to do besides eat our dinner in the dark? (the kids ate their dinner earlier but we painted through it so they wouldn’t be in the way or get into the paint then we stopped until they went to bed)… Jordan was so excited and proud to be doing Earth Hour! So, I took lots of pictures for him and he can share his story at school today while they share their Earth Hour stories!

Here are some photos from our earth hour…

830p on the button!

Me in the dark!

We were the only house on the street doing Earth Hour!

The Girls joined us in the dark!

Last night we had my Mother in law over for dinner. I made Cola Pork Chops, veggies and a side dish. I also tried for the first time making Chocolate, Chocolate Chip Loaf Cakes. They were TO.DIE.FOR. I mean incredible. I posted the recipe in my recipe section here on the site. They were delicious. I served slices with French Vanilla ice cream. YUM. I am becoming a really good chef if I do say so myself. I’ve always been able to cook basic meals, and I’ve tried being creative but nothing compares to going outside your comfort zone while cooking/baking, and succeeding. I love cooking and baking for my family. I always make healthy good meals but finding these great recipes for sweets is awesome too. Treats are great every now and then!

Like I said my mother in law came over yesterday for dinner. She stopped in around noon and picked Jordan up, he went over to her house for a couple of hours before they came over for dinner. She didn’t stay too long which was great because considering I didn’t speak to her for close to 2 months, anything could have started up a little tiff again. Short, sweet visits are great for the kids and my hubby.

Nothing much going on today. I have laundry to put away, and I would like to vacuum the bedrooms. It seems laundry is never ending in my house.. I dread putting it away more than the washing, and folding.. I’m just glad I don’t have any protective clothing to wash and deal with. What a dreadful job that would be.. Although they are great pieces of clothing, and very useful in jobs that require them.. I wouldn’t want to deal with them! Although, I’m sure most of which are just made to use and toss. :/

Don’t forget the comment giveaway is still going on and will be for the next few months. I am enjoying all the positive feedback, and all the great comments you all are leaving! Keep them coming.. you could win simply by just saying hello!

I hope everyone has a great Monday. It’s rainy and chilly here.. Perfect for laundry, cleaning and just hanging out with my beautiful babies! :)

Cooking and Baking

I have been doing a lot of cooking and baking for well for the past 8 years or so.. but just recently I’ve really got into the baking. I used to bake the odd time, I’d pick up pre-made cookie dough or cake and muffin mix and make those but recently I’ve decided why waste my money on those things when I usually have the things around the house to make my own from scratch!

So I’ve been doing just that. Not only baking things from scratch but I’ve really been on the hunt lately for new recipes to make for dinner for the family. I get sick and tired of the same things, so I’ve done really well finding new and yummy things to make! Yesterday I made this amazing Chicken bake. It was delicious, I never thought my girls would love it like they did… they both cleaned their plates. My hubby isn’t too big of a fan of stuffing which the recipe uses but he enjoyed it as well… I’ve decided to start taking pictures and sharing the new things I make with my facebook, so why not here as well? Here is a photo of Chicken Cacciatore I made from scratch, Mac n Cheese which I got the yummy recipe from Nancy and last nights Chicken Bake:

I will be adding a recipe section back again.. I don’t know why or how it disappeared but I figured it would be fun and that way if anyone else tries the recipes, or tweaks them or has any to share they can feel free to do so. I love making new things, and with a family of 6 different recipes and easy recipes are always welcome! :D

In other news Ava is doing amazing with her eyes. Her one eye is still a little red on the side but other than that they look fantastic. I can’t believe how straight they are and how much more confident she seems! It’s really a great great thing! I’m so glad she healed quickly, and really only had a rough day or two right after surgery. I’ll be posting before/after photos in the next few days… I just have a lot going on right now I haven’t had time. Tomorrow we are heading to my MIL’s for a turkey dinner as my hubbys older sister, husband and her 2 kids are coming into town.. we’ll be going there as well as his little brother, his girlfriend and their 2 kids so it will be a house full but will be nice to have all the kids together finally, for the 1st time…

Have a recipe you think I’d like, and my family would like? Please share it! Also, if you are in need of some auto insurance quotes take a looksie there! :D Have a great Friday night everyone!

Funfetti!

Last night the kids and I made cupcakes. They helped me mix, and pour then once they were cooled they helped me decorate the cupcakes! Kyla wanted sprinkles but a few weeks ago she found them on the counter and decided it would be funny to dump them on the floor. Me? I didn’t find it so funny…. lol so instead she chose to put gummibears on some. Then we put chocolate chips on them! They chose chocolate icing instead of vanilla and these are the final product. So good! I am going to see if we can make mini ones next week and decorate them for halloween. Maybe even let them chose the halloween decorations for on top of them at bulk barn! They all love doing it so much.

These are two of the most recent photos of Jayden! I know they are small but I wanted to share them anyway. You can see the full photos on my flickr as always. I say it all the time and I’ll say it again.. I can’t believe he’s 4 months old already and 18lbs.. hes going to be a big boy! I was going thru my archives the other day reading a few posts leading up to his birth and it seems like just yesterday…. oh where has the time gone?

Its funny you always hear people saying to cherish the time while your kids are young because it goes by so quickly, but when your young you are like “REALLY? am I EVER going to become an adult?” its so funny. When your young you want to be older, but when your older and your kids are young you want them to stay young for as long as possible. I do cherish my kids, as I will when they get older but right now watching them grow and learn.. its an amazing thing!

Well, my hubby is leaving for work in about 5 minutes so I have to make this short. The kids and I are going to just relax and hang out today. It’s chilly outside so we’re going to stay in, have some popcorn and watch a movie. Later on I might get them to help me cook dinner too… I’m doing shake-n-bake chicken and they love doing the shaking!!! I love getting them involved they love helping and its so cute to watch! Later on when the kids all go to bed I’ll be online for a short while to comment on sites and to help a friend of mine find some wedding invitations. So for now I will end this and I hope everyone has a great Saturday and stay warm… it’s chilly all over! :)

Things and Such!

Well as you can see I’ve changed the look again. I love it this time, last time I did too but it was a little too plain for me this is plain too but I like that its black and white! This one will be staying up for a while though. I kept trying to tweek stuff last night and I’d delete stuff that wasn’t supposed to be deleted. Twice I had to re-do everything, which drove me nuts but now its just the way I want it!

Next weekend the family and my mother in law are going down to Toronto! We live about 2 hours away, and my husband is from there so we’re going to visit his sister, her kids and his grandma! His Grandma hasn’t met Jayden yet but she’s met the other kids, so I’m really looking forward to her meeting our newest little one! She’s 83 now I think, or 82 and shes just the cutest! I also can’t wait for my kids to play with their 2 little cousins at my SILs! That should be really fun! We’re leaving early on the 24th and will be back I think by Sunday night! It will be nice to get away….. Its much needed!

I think it is almost time to turn our heat on! It’s starting to get really chilly outside and it won’t be long before inside starts to get chilly too. Right now its ok and everyone is wearing slippers and long sleeves/pants anyways but soon it will be necessary. We’ll need to get some furnace filters then we’ll be all set!!!

Tonight after dinner, which the kids asked if we could have breakfast for dinner! (so yummy - scrambled eggs, toast, sausages and mini breakfast potatoes..yum!) the kids helped me make funfetti cupcakes! The kids enjoy helping me cook/bake so it was fun. I told them they can help me decorate them tonight before bed once they’ve cooled! That should be interesting…and messy I’m sure!

Well before I end this I just want to ask everyone send fast recovery thoughts to my BFF A… she had surgery this morning and it went really well, so let’s all send her good thoughts for a speedy recovery! :) One of the strongest women I’ve ever met she is!

Have a good Friday everyone! :)

Another Birthday!

Starting in June we have Birthdays every month until October. Peter and Jayden are in June. I’m in July. Ava is in August. Jordan is in September and Kyla is in October. Infact, tomorrow is Kyla’s 3rd birthday! I can’t believe she will be 3 years-old tomorrow! That is crazy how fast that flew by. As of the 6th of October I will be a Mommy to a 6 year-old, 3 year-old, 2 year-old and a 4 month old! How crazy is that??? They need to stop growing just for a minute because I cherish this time with them and although I love watching them grow and become their own little person… I miss them being small!!!

Kyla can’t wait for her Birthday. We’ve been counting down since Sunday. All day today she’s been saying “Tomorrow is my Birthday!” and “Tomorrow I’ll be FREE” lol. SO. SO CUTE! We are just having a family thing. My hubby is off, Jordan is at school all day so we’re doing a dinner. We’re going to have some pizza, cake and presents. My mother in law will be coming over and we are just going to celebrate my babygirl turning 3! I’m excited, and a little sad… I can’t believe how fast they grow.

Yesterday, my husband and I made Peanut Butter Crispy Balls. They are amazing. They look a little odd but they are truly just delicious. My sister in law makes them every year for Christmas when she bakes her famous goodies that she hands out to everyone so I made my husband call her yesterday for the recipe because for some reason I was craving them and had to have them! I mixed it all together and Peter did the chocolate and rolled them into balls. The chocolate turned out a bit funny, its chunky but it tastes so good. After you make them you have to put them in the fridge to firm so the chocolate sets really nicely. I am going to get my recipe section back up and I’ll add the recipe in… it’s so easy, and tastes so good! Yum!

I have so much to blog about but I just can’t really find the time to get on the computer. My husband’s hours are a lot nicer this coming week so I’ll be able to sneak online while he is home for a few minutes to post. Thats really the only time I get the computer is when he is here.. even then its hard but I have so much to say, and so much to share… I also want to get my recipes back online like I said above, and try to add a few more things.. hopefully within the next few weeks my site won’t be so boring!

Random

I’m looking for some more link exchanges.. if anyone is interested please leave a comment. I’m trying to update a lot more now, and I want to get some readers back but I also want to share some interesting blogs with my readers so if anyone is interested please please please leave a comment!

A friend of mine broke their ps3 and I found this great deal on PS3 games…etc so if anyone else is in the market please check it out.

Also, Ava’s birthday is next week and I’m looking to make a cake for her.. if anyone could point me in the direction towards any baking sites, with good cakes or moulds on it please do so - I’m not sure what I’m looking for and I’m not great at decorating cakes but I need some ideas!

Baby things!

Yesterday I went out and bought the last few baby items we need. Just over a year ago we gave away everything we had baby - Swing, bouncer, exersaucer, bassinet, all of it - so we got the 3-in-1 for baby to sleep in our room for the first 6 months a few months back… We’ve had his crib for a little bit so yesterday I went out and bought a new swing, bouncer chair and car seat! It feels great having everything all thats left to buy is diapers and really, thats nothing to get! A lot of stress has been lifted off me having all the things here and ready for his arrival. He is due in 59 days!

Last night I had the worst sleep experience yet. Not only were my legs really hurting but my back was really aching too I just couldn’t get comfortable or stay asleep. It wasn’t fun. I’ve never had this happen with any of my other pregnancies so I’m not really used to it. Today I don’t have very much to do which is good because I am so beyond exhausted.

I’ve been trying to do some random baking to keep me busy and get the kids involved in something fun. The other day we made lemon tarts. They turned out so good, I love lemon. My kids love eating the lemon out of the tart shells. Anyone have any good idea for things I can bake and get the kids involved with helping?? Any suggestions would be great!

Sigh.

As you can see I got bored with the colors of the layout so I changed them. I like the layout, so I am not changing that for a while.. Besides I can’t find a single theme I like enough to take the time to tweak and fiddle with..But anyways, I forgot to mention when I first got this laptop I checked my site out in IE and it looked terrible.. This site was made in Firefox and looks best in Firefox.. So I apoligize if you are using IE and it looks terrible! :x

I made muffins today.. I was craving them horribly bad. We had batter in the freezer we bought from a fundraiser at Jordan’s school so I figured I’d make some up before the batter goes bad. They taste delicious. I’m sure they won’t last too long in this house though.. Everyone loves when I make sweets. I love eating these Chocolate Chip muffins with butter on them so so so good!!!

I didn’t sleep a bit last night. I had horrible heartburn and acid reflux. So I got up and messed around with this site. Then at about 1am-130am I went back upstairs to bed - tossed and turned all night long. Finally, at 730am I got out of bed and had a sandwich I was starving at this time and FINALLY my heartburn and acid reflux was gone. So, I again attempted to go back to sleep around 830am. My hubby got up with the kids so I could TRY to sleep… From around 830am-1130am I slept a bit, but it seemed everytime I fell asleep someone was waking me up… So, needless to say I’m a bit tired today. Hopefully I will get some good rest tonight. I’m not nearly as tired as I thought I would be - yet - so we’ll see.

Well, I’m off to put away some more laundry. Hubby is leaving for work soon so I gotta get what I need to get done before he goes otherwise the clothes that are folded and in piles on my bed waiting to be put away - will end up all over the floor!!! Kids loooove clean laundry!
